Casey Goodwin

Casey Goodwin has served as Director of Athletic Bands at the University of New Hampshire since 2006, where she is responsible for directing the Wildcat Marching Band, UNH Concert Band, and Beast of the East Pep Band, and teaches undergraduate courses in the areas of conducting and music education. Additionally, she is a faculty member and assistant coordinator of the Summer Youth Music School (SYMS) and a former conductor of the New Hampshire Youth Band. Prior to her appointment at UNH, Goodwin was the Director of Instrumental Music at Marshwood High School in South Berwick, ME.

A proud Wildcat, Goodwin earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education and her Master of Arts in Music with an emphasis in music education and wind conducting from UNH in 2001 and 2006, respectively. As an undergraduate, she held the positions of drum major of the Wildcat Marching Band and student conductor of the Pep Band. While a graduate assistant at the university, Goodwin served as an assistant conductor of the UNH Wind Symphony; wrote drill, arranged music, and ran rehearsals as a staff member with the UNH Wildcat Marching Band; conducted the UNH Pep Band at various sporting events throughout the year; and assisted with various courses within the department.

Goodwin is a member of the College Band Directors' National Association, National Association for Music Education, New Hampshire Band Directors Association, Kappa Kappa Psi (national honorary fraternity for college band members), the New Hampshire Music Educators Association (NHMEA), Women Band Directors International, and the National Band Association. She currently serves as a member of the CBDNA Athletic Band Committee and Director on the Executive Board of NHMEA and is a former Northeast District Governor of Kappa Kappa Psi.

In addition to her work at UNH, she is also an active guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician throughout the northeast and has written drill and arranged music for several area marching bands.

Mark Adams

Mark Adams

Battery Percussion Director and Arranger
Mark Adams has been involved with the Wildcat Marching Band for over 30 years. He was a member of the band as a student and eventually moved on to become the band's percussion instructor. Mark writes and instructs all the music that the percussion section plays in each show. When not on the field with the WMB, Mark is a Sourcing Manager for New Balance apparel.
Joe Meallo

Joe Meallo

Colorguard Director and Choreographer
We are excited to announce the return of Joe Meallo as a full-time staff member and as the colorguard instructor. Joe graduated from UNH where he studied theatre with a dance emphasis and was a member of the WMB as an undergraduate. He joined the staff as guard instructor starting in the 2007 season. After a few seasons away, he has returned to the program and his former post and we are thrilled to have him back. When Joe isn't on the field, he serves as the Associate Artistic Director of Patrick Dorow Productions (PDP) in Kittery, Maine. He has been directing and choreographing shows on the seacoast area for the past decade at Seacoast Repertory Theatre, Prescott Park Arts Festival, The Palace Theatre and now at PDP. Some of his favorite shows include Shrek (PPAF), Hairspray (PDP), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (SRT), and Cats (PDP). Locally he has taught Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Lyrical dance at Steppin’ Out Dance Academy (Kingston, NH), Dance Visions (Man-chester, NH), Simmons College (Boston, MA), and UNH with the fall and winter guard programs.

Ron Goodwin

Front Ensemble Director and Arranger

Ron is a 1990 graduate of Sanford High School in Sanford, ME, and a 1995 and 2010 graduate of the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, complemented by a minor in Music, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. He currently serves as Music Director at Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH, where he directs the band, teaches percussion, general music, and television production classes (drawing on his prior career of 15+ years of experience as a Producer/Director at New Hampshire Public Television).

Although his primary marching instrument has been the tenors, he has had experience with all facets of the battery. In 2000, Ron was named the Assistant Percussion Instructor for UNH working alongside long-time instructor Mark Adams and director Tom Keck. From 2001-2006, Ron was the Drumline Instructor at Marshwood High School in South Berwick, ME, where he ran both the fall and winter percussion programs. He returned to UNH to assist with the drumline in the fall of 2006 and now works concurrently with the Spaulding High School Red Raider Marching Band.
