2011-2012 Wind Symphony/Symphony Orchestra Required Excerpts (Winds and Percussion)

Please visit the PCAC to sign up for an audition time. Prepare the material between the brackets for each selection. Make sure you have both pages. Those auditioning for Symphonic Band are strongly encouraged to prepare these excerpts as well.

    Symphonic Band/Concert Band Sample Pieces

Please visit the PCAC to sign up for an audition time. Those auditioning for Symphonic Band are strongly encouraged to prepare the Wind Symphony excerpts as well. The following excerpts are not required for the audition, but are here for your convenience if you are having trouble finding a piece to prepare. Feel free to use these. Some of the bass clef pieces may say "bassoon" at the top, but can be used for trombone or euphonium as well. Percussionists should prepare as much as is comfortable - preferably timpani, mallets, and snare, but if you can do only one or two of those, that's okay. We want to hear your strengths so the directors know what kinds of parts to give you.
